A short paved left-turn lane at the east edge of Brant Ledger invites a turn toward a road that has not existed since 1989. The Harrow County Highway Department reportedly maintains the striping fresh enough that passing motorists continue to slow down and consider it. A weathered interpretive board explains, in unusually careful wording, that the lane was retained for training, observation, and ‘future circulation flexibility.’ The board is legible from the shoulder; the parking apron may be partly soft after rain.
