What a passerby first notices at the north edge of Creswell Spur, just off State Route 41 beside a low brick district highways office, is a landscaped loop displaying retired and current crash-cushion noses with modest interpretive signs, known as the Regional Median End-Treatment Garden. It is reportedly maintained by the Central Foothills Transportation Safety Outreach Committee, which appears to mow around each unit individually. The hook, according to the roadside panel, is that three of the end treatments were arranged in 1998 to demonstrate evolving standards to county judges and school bus supervisors during a one-day field seminar. A locked brochure box was present during the last report, but no brochure was visible.
