Museum of Municipal Beige
A 6,000-square-foot museum preserving the beige finishes of American municipal interiors: paint chips, floor tile, wall paneling, and forty-one filing cabinets arranged by hue. Its holdings include an unbroken run of the shade known as Government Tan from 1962 to 1989, and a fully recreated 1978 license-branch waiting room.
The Interdenominational Kneeler Museum Chapel
Seventeen church kneelers in a single room, each with a brass plate naming the congregation that donated or retired it, make up what local flyers call the Interdenominational Kneeler Museum Chapel. The building appears to be maintained by the Hobart Run Ministerial Exchange and a separate Ladies Preservation Circle, which may explain why the posted rules distinguish between kneeling, sitting, and "demonstration use." The hook is a narrow side alcove labeled "Comparative Cushion Density Wing," containing three visibly different kneeling pads and a typed chart dated 1994. A correspondent reported the front door open on a Wednesday afternoon but found the donation box sealed with painter's tape and a handwritten note directing questions to the parsonage across the alley, with no denomination specified.
World's Largest Functional Waffle
A 40-room hotel constructed in the shape of a Belgian waffle, complete with an elevator disguised as a pat of butter. Built at the height of America's novelty-architecture boom, it remains the only lodging in Tipton County with syrup-themed water features.
